I was born late in the evening on the 21st of March 1983 in Pretoria to wonderful parents, who encouraged me to be independent, embrace every challenge and to always be curious. I am the middle child, with an older and younger brother, who without a doubt helped shape my world and continue to do so without reserve.

I began my working career in 2006 as a junior consulting engineer, where I gradually gained experience in public and private capital-intensive infrastructure projects. While I still enjoyed a broad exposure in the infrastructure sphere, my experience gained momentum in mining and industrial infrastructure projects. Some of the major projects I had the privilege to be involved with include Kusile, Kolomela Greenfields, Sishen Life of Mine and Kipoi Copper Mine. I’ve always enjoyed being part of a highly-skilled, multi-disciplinary team, where appropriate planning and expertise would fuse together to create something extraordinary.

I hold a degree in Civil Engineering (First Class), an Honours degree in Structural Engineering as well as a Master’s degree in Engineering Project Management. I am registered as a Professional Engineer at ECSA, a Project Management Professional at PMI and an associate member of SAICE. During my professional career, I have completed several technical and management courses, drawing from my belief that one should always be curious and to build confidence in one’s abilities. I am a strategic thinker, who draws energy from challenges to develop innovative solutions whenever possible. I consider myself strong-willed, energetic, and enthusiastic with a strong inclination to manage stressful situations with composure.

I still live in Pretoria, with my beautiful wife, two lovely children and two adopted Schnauzer’s. I spend my free time reading, learning, exercising (though not excessively), practicing my hobbies and further developing my interests. The best time though, is spend with family and friends, thoughtfully discussing life, love and everything else while enjoying a preferred glass of red wine.
