VBKOM recently supported its alma mater, The University of Pretoria, by co-presenting a short mining course, which focussed on mine planning.
It was a great opportunity for a few VBKOM team members to get away from the consulting world and spend a few days in academia.
The course covers the basics and key elements of open pit planning and mine design starting at the geological resource model through to the reserve statement including all aspects of the value chain.
