VBKOM was appointed to translate the client's existing long-term LOM planning into short term planning outputs, evaluation operational performace, practices & procedures. The work programme incorporated the key activities and outputs identified for the assignment, including Mining Engineering: STP.

The technical methodology considered the characteristics and requirements applicable to Coal Surface Mining in South Africa, with due consideration given to the operating context, available project information and relevant study parameters. The analysis was developed to support practical decision-making, with technical inputs reviewed and integrated so that planning, design, scheduling or option-selection decisions could be considered on a consistent basis.

The final scope therefore combined technical analysis with clear documentation and structured communication, providing the client with a practical, reviewable basis for progressing the project or the next stage of work. Where information required interpretation, the available data and existing project material were considered together to support a proportionate and technically grounded response.
