The client required support with conducting a mining study, and VBKOM provided technical mining engineering services to support this mining study.
A structured programme of technical activities was undertaken to fulfil the assignment requirements and develop the available information into meaningful outputs for the project, including maximum pit depth for a specific minimum mining width, a pit optimisation study, an underground potential assessment, as well as presenting the inputs, assumptions and outputs of the study to the client.
The technical methodology considered the characteristics and requirements applicable to Fluorspar Surface Mining conditions in South Africa, with due consideration given to the operating context, available project information and relevant study parameters.
The final scope therefore combined technical analysis with clear documentation and structured communication, providing the client with a practical, reviewable basis for progressing the project or the next stage of work.
