VBKOM was contracted by the client to deliver specialist mining engineering support to optimise pit designs and long-term scheduling for a major diamond operation, ensuring alignment with strategic production targets and geotechnical constraints. Key activities and outputs included Optimised Pit Designs, includeing refined mine layouts and haul road configurations to improve extraction efficiency and safety. Life-of-Mine (LoM) Schedules, including updated production and waste-stripping schedules that maximise resource recovery while maintaining consistent plant feed requirements.
Consideration was given to the specific operating environment associated with Diamond Surface Mining operations in Botswana, ensuring that the technical assessment remained relevant to the conditions and requirements of the project.
All technical activities and deliverables were coordinated to support a consistent approach and remain aligned with the project objectives. The resulting work brought together the required analysis, documentation and communication in a clear and structured manner. This provided the client with a practical basis for reviewing the findings, making informed decisions and progressing the project into its next stage.
