VBKOM has been involved with the Adelaide Ruiters Mining and Exploration, Zandheuvel Phosphate Project for many years. This engagement focused on end-to-end management of a complex drilling and sampling programme to upgrade the resource classification of a phosphate deposit. The key activities and outputs included Geological Field Campaign Management, which entailed the successful execution of the drilling programme, including contractor oversight, core logging, and rigorous sampling protocols. The implementation of a Quality QA/QC Framework in order to deliver high-standard quality assurance and control measures to ensure data integrity for future resource estimations and study phases.

The technical approach was tailored to the specific requirements of a Phosphate Surface Mining operation in South Africa, with the prevailing project, operational and study conditions informing the assessment throughout. Technical inputs were reviewed and integrated on a consistent basis, with attention to assumptions, traceability and the intended use of the results. The analysis was structured to support practical decision-making and to provide a clear link between the project objective, the work completed and the conclusions or outputs produced.

A coordinated approach was followed to ensure that the various technical inputs and activities contributed meaningfully to the overall project objective. Particular emphasis was placed on producing outputs that were technically sound, clearly documented and appropriate for their intended use. The completed scope provided the client with an accessible and reviewable set of findings that could support decision-making and guide further project development.
