The client expressed a need for determining the current value of the colliery and characterising the asset using historic and recent exploration and mining data to support plant optimisation and updated reporting
The purpose hereof was to ultimately optimise the plant, as the previously predicted yields were not obtainable through the plant configuration as it stood.
The work programme incorporated the key activities and outputs identified for the assignment, including delivering a Competent Person's Report (CPR) in line with AIM, JORC, and VALMIN requirements.
The technical approach was applied within the context of Coal Surface Mining in South Africa, ensuring that the project-specific operating and study environment remained central to the assessment. Particular attention was given to traceability of technical inputs, internal consistency and the clear presentation of assumptions, findings and supporting information for review and sign-off where required.
The final scope therefore combined technical analysis with clear documentation and structured communication, providing the client with a practical, reviewable basis for progressing the project or the next stage of work.
